A Little Yachting - Bali Style

July 16

Rusty and I went snorkeling at one of the islands off the coast.  We took a traditional Balinese boat (with an outboard motor of course) to the island.  From there we went to a white sand beach pretty congested with tourists.  The beach has Warung after Warung with deck chairs in front.  We had a delicious snapper lunch and of course young coconut to refresh ourselves in the intense sun...the best part of our trip was the ride to the beach.  It has been too long since we've been on the ocean and riding with the salt spray in our faces is an awesome way to spend our morning.

Our snorkeling spot...a bevy of fish and coral and other sea creatures.

Somewhat barren islands.

A breather on the boat while snorkeling.

Rusty loving the ocean.

Rusty frolicking in the waves.

The White Sand Beach in its entirety.

Always fun to play with the panoramic app.

Our lunch straight from the sea, onto the grill, and onto our plate.

Young coconut!

Di is flying out tonight from Denpasar back home, volcano permitting, so we sent her on her way after dinner.  It was lovely to unexpectedly have ever on this leg of our journey.  This trip seems to be about rest, relaxation and recharging and has been a perfect way to ring in a new job, and to ring in the start of my second half century.  Tomorrow? A long day of travel to get back to the Northern Hemisphere.
